ABOUT THE ROLE

> Between 4 and 8 sessions/week
> 12.5 minute consultations
> About 13 patient contacts per session
> Rare home visits: one a week or less
> Daily meetings

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

> Clinical Support Staff: Large nursing team (including nurse prescriber), visiting nurses and also Pharmacist, Care Coordinator, First Contact Physio, Mental health Social prescriber, Youth emotional support staff
> Good CQC rating
> High QOF score (between 90% and 95%)
> Yes

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

> Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records
> In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence
> Educating patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
> Actively identifying, reporting, and correcting health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
> Participate in audit where appropriate.
> A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
> Managing chronic conditions and coordinating long-term care.
> Safe management of sharps use, storage and disposal
> In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
> Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum twice annually)

REQUIREMENTS

> Newly qualified as well as experienced GPs
> Flexibility
> Annual appraisal and revalidation, and maintain
> Excellent interpersonal skills
> Excellent record keeping
> To hold a degree in medicine that is recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC)
> Problem solving and change management skills
> Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, taking responsibility for managing own workload
> Completion of a recognised GP training program
> Friendly and inclusive
