ABOUT THE ROLE

> 5 to 6 sessions/week, or 1 week on 1 week off, or 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, or 1 month on and one month off
> No extended hours
> Very small Practice with a small number of patients. Ideal for continuity of care

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

> Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
> In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence
> Monitor patients’ conditions and wellbeing
> Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
> Developing and implementing treatment plans.
> Support the partners in achieveing the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
> Correct waste and instrument management, including handling, segregation, and container use
> Safe management of sharps use, storage and disposal
> Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
> Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)

REQUIREMENTS

> Newly qualified as well as experienced GPs
> Relaxed, positive and friendly manner
> Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
> Enhanced and disclosure and barring service check
> Experience with clinical risk management
> Medical degree
> General understanding of the GMS contract
> MBBS or equivalent medical degree
> Completion of a recognised GP training program
> Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
